Invitation On Saturday July 15, 2000 I am back in the Netherlands for a little more than a week to introduce my girlfriend Chisako to my native country, family and friends. To start the week off, I am throwing a party that evening, so we can all get together and show Chisako what we are all about. This time Amparo and Eric have 'voluntered' their just renovated house in Delft for the occasion. Doors are open Saturday evening from about 7pm, but I expect most people to arrive between 9 and 10. By public transportation Take the train to Delft Central Station. From there it is about a 7 minute walk. Delft Central Station is part of 'het Nachtnet', which connects the major Dutch cities by rail 24 hours a day. For the train schedules look at http://www.ns.nl/reisplan2.asp By car As I have never driven there myself, I can just tell you to drive to Delft-Centrum taking either exit Delft-Noord or Delft-Centrum from highway A13. Keep following the signs Delft-Centrum and you will end up somewhere near the train station. From there just look at the supplied map to find your way. There is plenty of free parking (yes, it still exists) in the area near Amparo and Eric's apartment. A detailed map of the area is available here. By taxi Forget about taxis in Holland. With the current standards in taxi service and pricing in Holland you will be better off taking public transport or renting a car.
