One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited was Treasure Island in Fiji. It is a small island resort, a couple of miles off the main island of Fiji in the Pacific Ocean.
From Nadi International Airport by helicopter to the Island is less then 10 minutes and the view is fantastic. There is no better way to arrive, especially after a long flight.
Just two steps out of bed to see the sunrise it not that much an effort. And after the sun is up, the bed is close enough to get some more sleep.

Because Treasure Island is a typical place for couples, it is essential to bring your friend/partner. Otherwise you will be beautifully bored. Beachcomber Island (in the background) has more of a singles scene with women being the majority of the guests.
The beach is right in front of the bure, which is a sort of hotel room in the form of a hut. The water is warm and perfect for a swim.

Peter is the assistent manager on the island and together with his girlfriend Laurel they make an excellent couple to have a few drinks with till the middle of the night.

The staff at Treasure Island are almost all of Fijan descent. They are very professional and smile only when they feel like it, which is a lot. Be aware of a late night invitation for a kava ceremony. These guys drink it like water.
Jerry on the left is an excellent guy doing the public relations. He is also singing in the band that performs almost every evening. He does Louis Armstrong's 'Wonderfull World' really well.
The sunset on the background of this picture is real.

For more information about this piece of paradise, just check out the website of Treasure Island. Going all the way to Fiji is really worth it.
